MapleStory's upcoming content update will be introducing Neo City and Kerning Square zones to the game. The new Neo City zone will give players access to a time portal, giving them the ability to travel to a time period of their choice, depending on the quest they complete. Kerning Square will be a new shopping mall in Kerning City and will have many of the same features that real world shopping malls have.

Neo City's addition to the game will open up a time portal that allows players to travel into the future, to and from Leafre. Players who venture to the Terra Forrest on a quest to reach the time portal may also encounter Andy, a time traveler extraordinaire with a story as interesting as his personality. Neo City's addition to the game will give players a new way to travel and open up new adventures.

Kerning City's soon to be added Kerning Square shopping mall will be the tallest and largest in Maple World. Like real world shopping malls, the mall will feature coffee shops, clothing stores, gift shops and many others. Players will venture through the impressive mall as they take on the quests prompting them to explore this area.
